The defending champions are still alive – barely. After sweeping their last three regular-season games SU and ATS, the Philadelphia Eagles (9-7 SU, 7-9 ATS) have earned the No. 6 seed in the NFC, and a Wild-Card game this Sunday, January 6, against the No. 3 Chicago Bears (12-4 SU and ATS). Kick-off from Soldier Field is at 4:40 PM ET on NBC.

Despite their recent hot streak, the Eagles are holding steady as 6-point road dogs at press time, with the total unchanged at 41. Just like last year’s Super Bowl run, it’ll be Nick Foles at quarterback for Philly after incumbent starter Carson Wentz (fractured vertebra) went on the injured list in Week 14. However, the Eagles also have multiple injuries on their defense, leaving them as distant +3000 long shots to win Super Bowl LIII.

Chicago (+675) have much better odds as the NFC North champions. They’re healthy for the most part, and they feature the league’s best defense, although the Bears lack scoring punch with sophomore QB Mitchell Trubisky (24 TDs, 12 INTs) at the controls. It’s usually about this stage of the NFL season when the real Super Bowl contenders begin to separate from the rest of the pack. That battle is raging particularly hard in the AFC, where the Chiefs and Steelers are currently leading the way, with a couple of teams hot on their heels. Minnesota comes into Chicago a rested and hopefully healthier team. Minnesota has been missing several starters, including WR Stefon Diggs, over the past weeks and welcomed the week off. Starting this Sunday, the Vikes face NFC North divisional teams in four of their remaining seven games, so they’ll need to find their stride if they hope to hold on to a playoff spot. Sunday’s game will go a long way in affirming their stance atop the division. Game time is 8:20 PM ET.
